Deborah Faulhaber - Your photographs of my niece Sara and her family are just beautiful. You stated you enjoyed your evening with such a lovely family. They are a cute couple aren’t they? And, of course my two babies; Ross is my “Precious Little Heart” and Finn well what can I say, he’s my little Prince with drop dead dimples.

Thank you for posting the photographs.

Deborah

Elena - That sand is so interesting. These are lovely.

I’m grateful and excited to have worked with Savannah Magazine again this issue (May/June 2012).  Our shoot was styled  by Tara Kirkland, owner of  Custard Boutique and President of Savannah Fashion Week 2012 – hair by Kristen Hale and makeup by Marie Bramlett, both from Colorboxx Salon.  Our model, Alexis McManus, was a delight and (obviously) stunning!  Savannah Fashion Week is right around the corner, May 14-17!

We were fortunate enough with this lovely family to shoot in two separate locations for their session.  We started at one of my favorite spots in Savannah – a small rather hidden marsh area that really is just fantastic for so many reasons, and then we ended at the beach as the sun disappeared for the night.  I wanted to share both locations in separate posts because they feel almost like two different nights altogether.  I love each location for different reasons and when families are up for the challenge of moving around it can really make for a fantastic variety in their final set.  I am looking forward to sharing the beach pictures later this week, or next!  I loved every minute I spent with this great family!

three, overnight.

You were born into a family that wanted you.  That prayed for you.  That planned for you.  You were born with a brother who couldn’t wait to meet you and see you and touch you and play with you.  You were born with an opinion.  You cried instantly, a contrast to your (at the time) only brother.  You had black hair that warmed my heart and made me feel like you were mine.  You had a spirit about you that endeared all of us.  Your life made me a better mom to you than I was to your brother (when he was born), and a better mom to your brother indefinitely.  You made me want more from life.  Thank you for that.  You were born with challenges.  You didn’t hear much at all the first ten months of life.  You had a tumor in your neck.  You had a massive seizure when you were less than 10 lbs.  You spent 5 days a week in therapy, just me and you (and sometimes your big brother).  You fought – just like your brother did when they told us he wouldn’t make it.  You never gave up.  Your opinion of life was that you’d already won and wouldn’t be held down.  You triumphed through serious adversity, surgery, and continual obstacles and became our second miracle baby.  Your brave brother paved the way.  You were and are a gift.  Your lisp is like heaven to my ears.  I will miss that when it’s gone – it is such a part of who you are right now.  You are (very) different from your brothers.  You are older than one and younger than the other.  You are perfectly matched from the Creator of all things to be right in the middle.  Suited to surrender to the care and protection of your biggest brother while just as brilliantly matched to hold and teach and nurture your baby brother.  Your name means “Like God….” – And you are.  You, along with your courageous father and your two precious brothers, are the closest thing to God I have had the pleasure on this Earth to love.  Happy third birthday to my Micah – you make my heart sing with joy and yearn for these moments to never end.  There is nobody like you, Micah Dean.

(you this morning as the sun came up, fog rolling out, in the backyard…. telling me you are “free” now) -xo all my love to you all the time.

Tammy Grant - Michelle, this is so beautiful! I am so moved. I had know idea the challenges you all faced. Your all are truly blessed. :-)

D - Oh be still my heart. Beautiful words for a beautiful grandson. It amazes me that you gave birth the same day I gave birth to Joel, coincidence? I think not. What a blessing you and your (our) family are to Poppy and I.
We love you.

Michelle Morris - Tammy, it was tough at times with both of the older two boys. But we are blessed and have three amazing and healthy children – by the grace of God. Thank you for your comments!

Michelle Morris - D, Nothing happens by chance! So amazing… I agree!

Carey Murns - Your words to Micah are so beautiful! What a blessed little boy he is to have a mother and father and brothers who think the world of him and know exactly where he came from! This brought a tear of joy to my eye, for a little boy I have never even met!
